We Prioritize Happy Visits & A Calm Environment

A first visit (also known as a “Happy Visit”) does not involve treatment or cleaning, but merely a visual examination and a consultation with you, your family, and your dentist. Our staff are skilled at making children feel welcome, calm, and happy while at the office, and we take time to make sure your child is comfortable before we begin the examination.
Positive Dental Habits & Tips for Kids

- You should start cleaning your child’s teeth as soon as the first one erupts, being sure to thoroughly wipe it (as well as gum tissue) with a clean, soft cloth. As more teeth appear, you can graduate to cleaning their teeth with an infant-sized toothbrush and water. You can start using a rice grain-sized smear of toothpaste specifically formulated for babies as recommended by your dentist in Allen and graduate them to fluoride toothpaste when appropriate (typically whenever they’re old enough to understand they shouldn’t swallow it.
- We recommend brushing your child’s teeth until they’re old enough to be able to do it on their own (typically around 10 years old).
- Develop fun games to help them learn how to brush effectively and for long enough, like playing their favorite two to three minute song while they brush.
- Lead by example and brush and floss your teeth alongside them every night.
- Limit your child’s fluoride intake to what’s recommended by your family dentist.
